Our heavyweight soft-bottom camp moccasins are extremely rugged. Made of thick, 10-15oz Chromepak leathers, they are made in single bottom and double bottom styles. Double bottoms have handsewn wraps of either a second full thickness (averages 1/4 inch) of Chromepak leather or plantation crepe rubber. The leather lasts longer, but the rubber has cushion and waterproof properties, so it depend on how and where you'll wear them. Wraps are handsewn to the bottom so they can be re-soled in the future (once you get them just the way you like them). Handsewn tip and kicker seams.

#109 Dawson, Single Bottom
Single bottoms have less thick leather and so they are lighter in weight. While they do have an easier break-in period, they are not protected on the bottom from friction. They still last a good long time, but for lighter-weight purpose. If you want them to last even longer, consider the double bottom, or we can add a camp sole (ask for price).

#106 Lo Boy, Double Bottom #108 Dawson, Double Bottom
The difference between the Lo Boy and Dawson style is the addition of a collar and a machine stitched backstay. The Lo Boy has been made in Maine for over 100 years, just as it is shown in the #106 picture above. It is entirely handsewn with no machine work whatsoever. We updated it by adding a collar for additional comfort and named it after our dear friend who asked us to make it that way, see the #108 picture above.
